The sale of toy haulers is on the rise with more and more people acquiring new recreational “toys” that they want to take along on their travels. So, what kind of “toys” are we talking about? Well, they can range anywhere from your off-road type vehicles like ATV’s, Dirt Bikes, 4x4’s and motorcycles to your more recreational toys such as kayaks, SUP boards, bicycles and so on.
Toy haulers are the perfect RV to haul your favorite gear along, so there’s never a dull moment while out on the road. Lucky for you, outdoor activities are never-ending in Texas. Here are a couple ideas of where you can use your favorite recreational “toys” in the Lone Star State.
ATV’s, 4x4, Dirt Bikes and Motorcycles
Hidden Falls Adventure Park- Marble Falls, TX
Hidden Falls Adventure Park is your premier off-road trail park where guests can ride their own or rent vehicles such as ATV’s, Dirt Bikes and 4x4 vehicles. They are over 3000 acres of terrain with over 200 miles of trails for all skill levels. From beginner to expert, you can power up and hit the high jumps or keep it grounded on the more scenic trails that wind through the park. Hidden Falls also offer night rides on Fridays and Saturdays to those who enjoy a little more thrill. Camping facilities are available on site for RV’s so you can drive your toy hauler right onto the property and ride all day and all night. They also have cabins available if you are looking for a little more rustic comfort for a night or two. The park offers yearly memberships so you can enjoy unlimited riding access and receive discounts on camping and special events hosted throughout the year. There are many different companies throughout the state that offer kayak, canoe, and SUP board rentals and guided tours. But there have recently been paddling trails opened to the public for you to bring your own gear and paddle the trails on your own. The Texas Parks and Wildlife paddling trails is a public program that opened last fall and spans throughout the state. There are over 70 official trails, more than 3700 streams and 15 rivers within the state that visitors and residents are encouraged to paddle on. Plus, there are over 3300 miles of coastal shoreline along the Gulf that are accessible to paddlers of all kinds. Your options are endless! One specific program is the Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge PaddlingTrail. It’s a 6-7 mile loop that opened to the public on November 1st of last year on the Trinity River. People from all over have come to take advantage of the opened trail loop and many more are expected as the weather continues to get warmer.
The state of Texas has many public parks, state parks, and forest preserves that offer an abundance of trails for hiking and biking. Some state parks have fees, so search the ones in your area that you are interested in before making the trek. Most state parks offer camping as well so you can bring your RV toy hauler, spend a few nights and travel all the great trails in the area.
