RVers are in for a real treat as Garmin has announced their newest navigation tool just in time for summer. Garmin is looking to not only tap into the RV market but to become a dominant front runner in it.
"What we found out before the (first version of the RV navigator) is a lot of RVers don't want to use the products made for truckers," Garmin spokesman Cesar Palacios said. In an attempt to give the RVers what they want, Garmin has come out with the 660 LMT, a smaller and more compact version of the existing navigator.
The new device will alert drivers of bridge heights and weight limits, as well as provide campground locations. The device will also be compatible with existing backup cameras. According to Palacios, the company is ready to become a frontrunner in the RV industry. The new device is their way of saying “We’re present and we want their business.” If you’re interested in picking up one of these for your RV, they’ll hit shelves next month and sell for $329.99.
These new Navigators will be a nice accessory for RVers. Not only will you have a GPS for your RV but also a tool to allow you to better plan your trip around obstacles that may occur along the way. We look forward to seeing how this new navigation tool holds up to his high expectations and to hear what others think about this.
